Pipe Weld Joint Heating Belt
Darui Electric recommends
1. Before installation
A. Use a megohmmeter to check that the electrical insulation is qualified.
B. Clean the pipe heating surface to be dry and free of debris.
2. Installation and operation
A. Wrap the heating belt around the pipe circumference, with the inner edge of the heating belt (the side without the power lead) positioned 35mm from the pipe weld seam. At the same time, make the two symmetrical heating belt fastening buckles located at the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions of the pipe cross-section (can be adjusted accordingly after butt welding operation) to avoid affecting the operation of welders on both sides of the pipe. Press the spring locking device of the heating belt to make the electric heating belt fit tightly against the pipe surface, facilitating heat transfer and improving heating efficiency.
B. Drape the insulation blanket (need to be ordered from the factory) over the heated pipe end.
C. Plug in the power plug, turn on the weld joint electric heating belt switch to heat up. Please note: When moving the pipe during butt welding, someone should hold the power cable of the weld joint electric heating belt to prevent mechanical external force from swinging and damaging the weld joint electric heating belt.
D. After the weld joint temperature reaches the process requirement (+100°C), remove the insulation blanket and proceed with the first root pass welding.
E. During the second pass welding up to the final cap pass welding process:
I) When the root pass welding unit moves, first turn off the switch, unplug all sockets, and cut off the power to the weld joint electric heating belt.
II) When the fill pass welding unit arrives, plug in all power plugs, turn on the switch, and the two weld joint electric heating belts continue to heat up. When subsequent units move sequentially, follow the same procedure.
Please note: 1. According to electrical specifications, sockets cannot be used as operating switches! 2. When grinding or repairing the weld bead, do not damage the outer protective stainless steel shell of the reinforced aluminum silicate fiber rope! 3. Must grasp the socket body for natural locking or unlocking operation; it is strictly forbidden to pull the cable body for leverage! 4. It is strictly forbidden to strike an arc on the heating belt body with the welding electrode or to connect the welding ground cable to the electric heating belt metal body.
III) If the pipe weld joint temperature is too high, you can turn off 1 to 6 switches of the two heating belts one by one to cut off the grouped power supply inside the heating belt. Conversely, if the temperature drops, you can turn on the switches that were turned off to reconnect the grouped power supply inside the heating belt. (If a temperature automatic controller is used, this operation is not required.)
IV) If the unit shift connection time is relatively long, you can reapply the insulation blanket at the weld joint for insulation.
