Heating Power Calculation
Design and calculation of electric heater:
1. Design and calculation of electric heating play a very important role in electric heating systems. This chapter briefly introduces some calculations and designs in typical applications. For further study, please refer to relevant manuals. The design and calculation of electric heating are usually carried out in the following three parts:
1. Calculate the power required to heat from the initial state to the set temperature within the specified time.
2. Calculate the power required to maintain the medium temperature constant during actual operation.
3. Select the heater model and quantity. The total power takes the maximum of the above two powers and considers a factor of 1.2.
Formula:
1. Power required for initial heating Kw=(C1M1△T+C2M2△T)/863/H+P/2
P: heat dissipation of the container at final temperature, unit: kW
H: time required to heat from initial temperature to final temperature, unit: hour
M1, M2: mass of container and medium respectively, unit: kg
C1, C2: specific heat of container and medium respectively, unit: kcal/(kg℃)
△T: difference between final temperature and initial temperature, unit: ℃.
2. Power required to maintain medium temperature: Kw=C2M3△T/863+P
M3: medium added per hour, unit: kg/hour.
2. For convenience of design, this chapter provides some quick calculation formulas:
1. Power required for heating static water or oil (ignoring container heat loss) Kw=CM△T/863/H
C: specific heat kcal/(kg.℃)
M: mass kg △T
H: time: hour.
2. Power required for heating flowing water or oil (ignoring container heat loss) Kw=CF△T/14
C: specific heat kcal/(kg.℃)
M: flow rate kg/min △
T: temperature difference ℃.
3. Channel air heating (normal pressure) Kw=F△T/40
M: flow rate m3/min
△T: temperature difference ℃
40: coefficient kW.min/(m3/min)
Vout=Vin(Tout+273)/(Tin+273)
Vin, Vout: channel inlet and outlet flow velocity
Tin, Tout: channel inlet and outlet temperature ℃.
