People's Daily Online, Xiamen, April 25 (Chen Bo) Recently, law enforcement officers from the Xiamen Emergency Management Bureau, during an inspection of a gas station in the city, discovered the illegal act of refueling while unloading oil, posing significant safety hazards.
It is reported that gasoline and other refined oil products are highly insulating and easily charged media. Due to factors such as oil sloshing and splashing, the amount of static electricity in the underground tank increases, creating a static safety risk. To ensure safe production, according to relevant regulations, when a tanker truck is unloading oil, the dispensers connected to the underground tank should stop refueling. After unloading, the oil should be stabilized for 10 to 15 minutes before metering and refueling operations can proceed.
High temperatures in summer can exacerbate oil vapor evaporation, easily causing fires. The Xiamen Emergency Management Bureau reminds: All gas stations must strictly adhere to the safety management regulations for gas station operations during unloading and refueling operations. At the same time, no items other than fire-fighting equipment should be placed on the refueling island; refueling personnel should not fill insulating containers with gasoline, diesel, or kerosene; refueling operations should be performed by refueling personnel and not by consumers themselves; if someone smokes or uses non-explosion-proof mobile communication tools inside the station, staff should immediately stop refueling and promptly intervene.
