- I. Introduction: The electric heating material of temperature-controlled electric heat tracing cable is a composite conductive polymer, which is a conductive composite formed by adding conductive fillers (such as carbon black, graphite, carbon fiber, metal powder, etc.) to a general-purpose polymer as the base material. The basic temperature-controlled heat tracing cable consists of a PTC core strip and an insulation layer. When current flows through the parallel PTC material layer, Joule heat is generated, causing the core strip to heat up and increase in temperature. At the same time, the heat of the core strip is transferred through the cable insulation layer to the heated system with lower temperature, compensating for the heat dissipated by the system to the environment. When the electric power of the cable equals the heat loss of the system, the system temperature can be maintained stable, and the temperature-controlled electric heat tracing cable and the system reach a stable working state of heat tracing and insulation (i.e., steady state). This long-strip cable is an excellent heat tracing and insulation equipment.
