SRY6-2 Sheath-type Electric Heater

SRY6-2 Sheath-type Electric HeaterOverview:

The SRY6-2 electric heater for wind power is specifically designed for heating oil in wind turbine gearboxes. The product is designed according to the JBT2379-93 standard, with a simple and practical design. The surface load of the heater is designed to be 1.2W/cm², and the material is stainless steel, suitable for use in environments ranging from -45°C to 90°C.

Read and note the following:

To ensure correct and reliable use of the electric heater, it must be installed and used by qualified personnel, and the heater must be carefully maintained. Only when used by qualified personnel familiar with the installation, startup, use, and maintenance of similar heaters can the electric heater operate well. Operators must carefully read this instruction manual. The safety instruction manual is included in the accompanying materials of the electric heater, containing relevant safety specifications and effective electrical installation and operation content.

This electric heater is produced and tested according to the JBT2379-93 standard. The electric heater has intact protective devices when leaving the factory. To protect and ensure the safe use of the electric heater, users must pay attention to the relevant descriptions in the instruction manual. Failure to operate according to the instruction manual may lead to personal injury or even death, or damage to equipment and facilities connected to the electric heater. In any case, if the content designed in the instruction manual is incorrect, please contact the manufacturer at the address in the following manual. If the electric heater has obvious damage, malfunction, or improper storage, the electric heater cannot be operated safely.

Standards and Regulations

When used in industries other than those specified in the effective industrial standards or the JBT2379-93 standard noted in the manual, SRY6-2 Sheath-type Electric Heater should pay attention to the same effective standards in related industries.

Overview:

1.1  Description

It is not allowed to use this electric heater above the boiling point of the heating medium under atmospheric pressure.

1.2

The SRY6 electric heater is used for preheating heavy oil, lubricating oil, diesel, and similar media. The maximum working temperature of SRY6-2 is 100°C, and the maximum use temperature shall not exceed 300°C. The user can increase or decrease the number of heaters according to the quantity of heating medium, heating time, and temperature rise limit.

1.3  Since the heating tubes are arranged in a fluid-like manner, the heater can heat the heating medium very evenly. The replaceable electric heating tubes are inserted into the heater container, and when replacing the heater, there is no need to drain the heated medium.

1.4 If the surface load of the selected heater is low, it can avoid bubble formation and carbonization of the heating medium.

1.5  Main components of the heater:

Flange, junction box, electric heating tubes, heater seals, cable glands, etc. For special forms of heaters, please provide details of the accessory data.

SRY6 Sheath-type Electric Heater List
Before installing and operating this external electric heater for the first time, the installation instructions should be read carefully.

Immersion electric heaters must be installed by skilled operators according to the instruction manual, relevant specifications, and details.

Hazards caused by neglecting this instruction manual are not covered by the warranty.

According to the operating position of the heater (vertical or horizontal), an appropriate installation structure should be selected. The heater should be avoided from being installed on vibrating supports.

3.1 Note: Before turning on the power, the heating zone must be completely immersed in the liquid.

3.2 Heater Selection

The selection of the heater should be based on the flow rate of the medium and the temperature difference. To avoid overheating the medium, the heater model with the minimum number of heating elements and the lowest surface load should be selected as much as possible.

3.3 Maintenance:

1) Regularly clean the heater according to the actual working mode and the pollution level of the fluid. Appropriate cleaning liquid can be used to flush muddy sediments, while solid sediments inside or in recesses of the components need to be removed by disassembling the heating element assembly. To avoid damage to the heating elements or heater recesses, suitable solvents should be used for cleaning.

2) Only the conduit sides of the heating element assembly can be cleaned with liquid cleaners or solvents.

3) After cleaning the heater, reassemble the heater in the reverse order of the above procedures, replace the new flange gasket, and test the heating elements.

4. Troubleshooting and Repair

4.1 Heating power too low, heating temperature too low:

1) Check the heating elements and circuits

2) Check the function and setting of the temperature controller

3) Clean the heating element assembly

4.2  Heating power normal, heating temperature too high:

1. Check the function and setting of the temperature controller

4.3  Low insulation resistance of the heater to ground

1) Check if there is debris in the wiring device

2) Check if the heater is damp

3) Check if the cable has any damage

5  Replacing Heating Elements

1. Disconnect the power supply

2. Depressurize the heater

3. Disassemble the heating element assembly

4. Loosen the nut and pull out the heating element

5. Install the new heating element in reverse order

During installation, hold it with a wrench to prevent the heating element from being twisted.
