Explosion-proof Heater

is an internationally popular high-quality long-life electric heating equipment. It is used for heating, maintaining temperature, and warming flowing liquid or gaseous media. When the heating medium passes through the heating chamber of the electric heater under pressure, it uniformly removes the huge heat generated by the electric heating elements using fluid thermodynamics principles, raising the temperature of the heated medium to meet the user's process requirements.

Working Principle

An explosion-proof electric heater is a device that converts electrical energy into thermal energy to heat the material to be heated. During operation, the low-temperature fluid medium enters the inlet through the pipeline under pressure, flows along the specific heat exchange channels inside the electric heating container, following the path designed using fluid thermodynamics principles, and carries away the high-temperature thermal energy generated by the electric heating elements, thereby raising the temperature of the heated medium. The outlet of the electric heater provides the high-temperature medium required by the process. The internal control system of the electric heater automatically adjusts the output power based on the temperature sensor signal at the outlet, ensuring uniform temperature of the medium at the outlet. When the heating element overheats, the independent overheat protection device immediately cuts off the heating power supply, preventing the heated material from overheating, coking, deteriorating, or carbonizing, which could otherwise damage the heating element, effectively extending the service life of the electric heater.

Explosion-proof Principle

Explosion-proof heaters are generally used in hazardous locations where explosions may occur. Due to the presence of flammable and explosive oils, gases, dust, etc., in the surrounding environment, contact with electric sparks can cause explosions. Therefore, explosion-proof heaters are required for heating in such situations. The main explosion-proof measure of explosion-proof heaters is the installation of an explosion-proof device in the junction box of the heater, eliminating the risk of ignition from electric sparks. For different heating applications, the explosion-proof rating requirements of the heater vary, depending on the specific situation.

Application Scope

Typical applications of explosion-proof electric heaters mainly include:
1. Heating and raising temperature of chemical materials in the chemical industry, drying of certain powders under specific pressure, chemical processes, and spray drying.
2. Heating of hydrocarbons, including crude oil, heavy oil, fuel oil, thermal oil, lubricating oil, paraffin, etc.
3. Heating of process water, superheated steam, molten salt, nitrogen (air) gas, water gas, and other fluids requiring temperature increase.
4. Due to the advanced explosion-proof structure, the equipment can be widely used in chemical, military, petroleum, natural gas, offshore platforms, ships, mining areas, and other places requiring explosion-proof measures. Application examples
