Technical Requirements Analysis of Fire-fighting Electric Heat Tracing during Installation
Pipeline systems are very common in buildings, such as domestic hot water, fire-fighting pipes, etc. In winter, due to temperature effects, pipes are prone to freezing and blockage, so the pipe anti-freezing system plays a very important role in buildings. While installing the insulation system for pipes, environmental protection must also be considered, so the use of electric heat tracing systems is becoming more widespread.
Fire-fighting pipes use electric heat tracing systems for insulation. The installation process of electric heat tracing cable determines the later insulation quality. Fire-fighting pipes are often buried underground or in dark tunnels. Due to concerns about low external temperatures, the voltage value that the electric heat tracing bears is relatively large. In addition, most electric heat tracing equipment manufacturers now choose the self-limiting temperature mode. When the gap between the temperature and the self-limiting temperature is too large, the change in resistance value can easily paralyze the voltage device, which is a point that requires special attention. To prevent the above phenomenon, a dedicated temperature controller can be pre-installed on each cable for fire-fighting electric heat tracing. Secondly, if the current is too large and there is a leakage phenomenon after cable aging, a leakage prevention switch can be installed next to the pipe. After the thermostat is installed, set the temperature to the rated value and place it on the electric heat tracing pipe wall. The pipe wall can sense the temperature, allowing the thermostat to effectively control the heat dissipation of the entire pipe.
At this time, if a problem occurs at any stage of the electric heat tracing pipe, the indicator light of the temperature control switch can directly show which part of the electric heat tracing cable has the problem, and then direct maintenance can be carried out. Of course, this is only a partial introduction. During actual installation and use, technical personnel from the electric heat tracing manufacturer need to design, install, and debug, so the electric heat tracing system basically does not have problems during operation.
